September 9th - September 14th, 2026
5 day Stage Race, that takes athletes along the remote and rugged 165 km Sunshine Coast Trail that is advocating for primary forest preservation and sustainable land stewardship. This event is demanding, filled with personal challenge and fosters community through delicious shared meals and shared experiences.
About the Race
The Sunshine Coast Trail is on the lands of Tla’amin Nation, located on the coast rainforest of mainland British Columbia, tracing valleys and ridges from Desolation Sound (ʔayajuθəm) to Saltery Bay. The SCT was established in 1992 by a small group that founded the qathet Parks and Wilderness Society (qPAWS).
This 5 day remote Stage Race event runs 165 km through remaining coastal forests, rocky coastal bluffs and granite ridge tops with its origins in connecting remaining Primary Forests.
Through the course of 5 stages participants complete the SCT trail in its entirety and experience the diverse coastal ecosystems that the remote trail highlights. Running along this trail participants experience the presence and cooling temperature of Primary forests with lush moss and the imposing reality of habitat loss when running through harvested land the trail passes through.
Proceeds from the race will go to support Tla'amin Nation Guardians Program and qPAWS and qathet PROWLS.
Experience the beauty and the challenge of the Sunshine Coast Trail yourself this September!
